Ex-bureaucrat to interact with students

SALALAH: The Indian Social Club Salalah has organised an interactive session for students and their parents with former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Rakesh Garg on Thursday at the Club office from 5.30 onwards. The interaction would be a kind of career counseling and getting the tips from a person who maintained a very good track record as a bureaucrat and also as a student.

Garg did Mechanical Engineering course from IIT Roorkee, obtained MTech (Production Engineering) from IIT Delhi in 1978, MBA from Ljubljana in Slovenia, Europe on UNDP (United Nations Development Program) scholarship in 1991 and completed All India Engineering Services Exam-1977. He joined Railways as an Assistant Mechanical Engineer (AME) and has overseen the biggest loco sheds in the country. He joined the Indian Civil Services in 1980.
