ARAB HEALTH MEET:  The Cairo meeting aims to mitigate the negative effects on human health through Arab ministries


CAIRO: Deliberations of the joint meeting of the Arab Health Ministers Council and the Arab Ministers Responsible for Environment Council began at the Arab League’s HQs’ on Thursday, within the framework of following up the implementation of the issued decisions about health and environment.


The Sultanate’s participating delegation in the meeting is led by Dr Mohammed bin Saif al Hosni, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs.


The meeting aims at facing environmental risks and its health effects on the Arab region and taking all appropriate actions to reduce them and mitigating the negative effects on human health through the efforts of the Arab health and environment ministries.


The meeting also aims at approving the Arab health and environment strategy in a bid to reduce and protect from the non-communicable diseases, besides protecting population groups prone to diseases related to environment pollution and enhancing potentials of health and environmental sectors in preparation for emergencies. — ONA
