Director of Innovation visits science centre in Al Dakhiliyah

Nizwa, August 26 - Dr Mia bint Said al Azri, Director of Innovation and Scientific Olympiad at the Ministry of Education, and other specialists visited the Science and Technology Centre in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.


The visit was aimed at learning about its facilities and identifying important programmes that would be implemented as part of its activities.


The centre has been carrying out activities, including workshops and training programmes, for students as part of its work plan.


Al Walid bin Khalid bin Sulaiman al Sulaimani, Director of Information Technology Department at the General Directorate of Education in Al Dakhiliyah, met Al Azri and the team, and briefed them about the centre and its activities.


Khalid Ambusaidi, supervisor of systems at the Directorate, presented centre’s “vision document” containing its objectives, importance of such centres, targeted categories and the future of the centre.


Zahra bint Khalaf al Huqani, coordinator of educational programmes at the centre, presented the activities of the centre in the past.


Dr Khalifa al Azri, the centre’s expert, presented the nanotechnology plan and how


students and teachers can benefit from the laboratory and technology available at the


centre, such as educational bags, equipment, materials and nanotechnology products exhibition.


Visitors toured the centre’s halls and laboratories, Robot Learning Hall, Interactive Learning Room, Renewable Energy Laboratory and the Nanotechnology Lab.
