MUSCAT: Hussain bin Hassan AbdullHussain, Haya Water’s CEO, said that the company has made good progress in the construction of the Sewage Water Treatment project in Darsait and its commissioning is expected in the third quarter of this year.
AbdullHussain was visiting the project site with the company’s top officials to monitor the ongoing plant work and the infrastructure of the project.
The CEO praised the hard work of those behind the sewage project, and also appreciated the remarkable progress witnessed in various projects.
“The construction of a new STP in Darsait came in line with the rapid growth in population. The plant uses latest technologies to treat sewage and control odour. The plant has a capacity of about 37,000 cubic metres per day and will be completed in July”, he added.
Once the sewage treatment plant becomes operational, the residential, commercial and government buildings in Wadi Kabir, Ruwi and other areas that come under the Wilayat of Muttrah will be linked to the new plant. — ONA
