Among the key elements that complement having sufficient educational process at schools is students’ counselling.

It is intended to be within the context of learning values and principles in particular.

Students not only need to be given counselling in education, but on other important aspects of life; religious, social, emotional as well as personal life to name a few.

Students should always be given proper guidance from parents, teachers, elder siblings or school’s social specialist.

This helps them pave their path towards current academic or personal life and future planning depending on their age.

Children seek guidance and sympathy far more than instructions.

In certain ages, students either male or female, need someone to be closer to as a model as they are making their minds and forming their personalities.

One of these significant stages of people’s lifetime is adolescence which is a very critical transitional period.

Personality of most children is getting shaped at this very sensitive era of their life.

Hence, counselling is undoubtedly important at this time to enlighten teenagers while undergoing various psychological changes.

As we all realise that learning and counselling should come in parallel at schools in order to achieve the core objective of educational process.

Therefore, to ensure that quality education is happening, forces of teachers, parents and government institutions concerned shall be collectively joined.

One hand cannot clap alone and one stick of kindling alone will not light a fire.

Playing its key role as a government body concerned, the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs thankfully appointed female religious counsellors to report to elementary public schools on a regular weekly basis besides their key responsibilities to the society.

These counsellors serve as a back-up for teachers by taking care of the substitute classes to replace absent teachers.

They also dedicate special classes to help students memorise the Holy Quran and learn social ethics and life principles.

These counsellors are of great significance and support for teachers and students alike. They play an active role in guiding school students and serving as advisers for them too.

The counselling classes mark a sort of relief and favourable change of daily learning routine and school experience.

They also encourage the learning in stress-free environment as no exams or homework tasks are required for such insightful sessions.

The process of counselling serves as a means of offering students a professional support for any challenge they face in their life which might impact their performance and interaction with others.

All children need to be taught to unconditionally accept, approve, admire, appreciate, forgive, trust, and ultimately, love their own person.

Counselling is a must-to-obtain back-up which everyone should experience and get the advantage of, seeking counselling is not something we are ashamed of.

Every now and then, students must be given special sessions of guidance and counselling either at schools, colleges or universities.

Today, we need to have counsellors as strong-willed and inspiring members of the schooling and leadership team.

I’m sure they help students in the areas of academic achievement, personal and social development.

Believe me counselling and guidance help reducing the students’ challenges and problems reported to schools administrations.

Also counsellors strive to ensure today’s students become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow.

Studies have proven that students who attended counselling programmes had significantly less inappropriate behaviours and more positive attitudes towards school than other children.

Other studies reported that counselling decreases the students’ hostile and aggressive behaviours.

Always give people enough guidance to enable them make the decision you want them to make.

Don’t tell them what to do, but encourage them to do what is best for themselves.
