Council, Majlis chairmen get Iran speaker’s message

MUSCAT: Suad bint Mohammed al Lawati, State Council Vice-Chairperson, received on Monday, Dr Sayed Ahmed Reza, Senior Adviser to the President of the Iranian Shura Council, and his accompanying delegation. The guest handed over a written message addressed to Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council, from Dr Ali Larijani, Speaker of the Iranian Shura Council. Suad welcomed Dr Sayed and his accompanying delegation and wished that the visit would be fruitful. She hoped that the visit would enable them to achieve the desired objectives in supporting the bilateral relations between the Sultanate and the Islamic Republic of Iran and elevate it to new horizons in order to serve the interests of the two friendly countries.


The meeting discussed ways to strengthen parliamentary relations between the two countries and the means for further future cooperation. For his part, Dr Sayed, expressed his delight to visit the Sultanate, and appreciated the growing close relations between the two countries, leading to the evolving cooperation and praised the role of the joint committees between the Sultanate and Iran to deepen various aspects of bilateral cooperation in line with the ambition of the leaders of both the nations. He said that he looked forward to greater prosperity and development in the relations of the two countries in all fields, including parliamentary and others.


Meanwhile, Mohammed bin Abu Bakr al Ghassani, Deputy Chairman of Majlis Ash’shura, too on Monday received Dr Sayed and his accompanying delegation. The guest handed over a written message from Dr Ali Larijani, Speaker of the Iranian Shura Council. The meeting discussed the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and means of enhancing them, particularly in the parliamentary field, as well as promoting the existing coordination and cooperation between the two councils. — ONA
