Cooperation with Zanzibar discussed

MUSCAT: Shaikh Abdullah bin Nasser al Bakri, Minister of Manpower, received at the General Diwan of the ministry on Sunday Maudline Cyrus Castico, Minister of Labour, Empowerment, Elderly, Youth, Women and Children of Zanzibar and her delegation. They reviewed aspects of cooperation and technical coordination in the field of labour, besides reviewing the importance of benefiting from expertise and enhancing technical cooperation in related fields. The meeting was attended by the Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Manpower for Labour and specialists.

Also on Sunday, Dr Yahya bin Badr al Maawali, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development, received at his office Maudline Cyrus Castico and her delegation. The two sides discussed aspects of cooperation between the Sultanate and Zanzibar in social programmes especially those meant for women, children and family. The meeting included a presentation for the guest and her delegation on the efforts made by the Ministry of Social Development to provide home care service for the elderly people. The guest hailed the remarkable development achieved in the social and other fields by the Sultanate under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos. She also highlighted the importance of her visit and that of her delegation to the Sultanate in improving the social life of Zanzibar. — ONA
