Muscat: The Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP), acting in cooperation with Royal Oman Police (ROP) and the Public Prosecution Department, on Tuesday seized large quantities of medical gloves whose dates of production were manipulated.

Acting on tip-offs, the PACP, the ROP and the Public Prosecution Department probed a certain type of gloves found in large quantities in a number of pharmacies around the Sultanate, and the operation led to the impounding of the controversial gloves, originally carrying production and expiry dates 06/2015-06/2020, with new stickers reading as P-03/202 and E-03-2020 put on top of the original dates.

This was in breach of Article (7) of the Public Authority for Consumer Protection’s Law promulgated by Royal Decree No 66/2014.
