MUSCAT: The Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources has completed the implementation of the project for constructing livestock barns in the Wilayat of Al Buraimi and handed over to investors. The project includes 56 barns; 28 for goats, 18 for cattle and 10 for camels.
The average size of a barn is 30 metres. The barn size varies depending on the type of use. This project is established to meet the nutritional requirements of meat for citizens and residents and it is expected to run before Ramadhan.
The design of barns took into account the aspects of handling all waste and residues resulting from livestock in accordance with the best specifications and requirements to keep the barn clean continuously and not emitting any unpleasant odours. The barns are close to the slaughterhouses to ensure easy inspection of livestock especially in light of the spread of their diseases or resulting from direct contact with them and the absence of care for the place and food in the unauthorised places of sale which are remote from control.
