Challenges facing Omani families, upbringing children organised

MUSCAT: Deliberations of the communications and integration forum under the theme ‘Family Challenges in Children Upbringing and Enhancing the Omani Values and Identity’ started on Monday under the auspices of Sayyid Saud bin Hilal al Busaidy, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat in the presence of Shaikh Mohammed bin Saayid al Kalbani, Minister of Social Development, and Said bin Saleh al Kiyoumi, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI). 400 participants representing public and private organisations, as well as civil society and families participated at the event.


The seminar discussed the challenges that faced the Omani families and affected their ability to carry out their roles and functions. It also covered the challenges faced in children upbringing and enhancing the Omani values and identity to come out with an integrated vision that streamline efforts made by the different stakeholders to achieve the educational, social, cultural and economic aims. The seminar included four parallel panel discussions that covered the social, education, cultural and economic aspects. — ONA
