The food inspectors of various municipalities across Oman have intensified their campaign to ensure the safety of food sold at coffee shops and restaurants for iftar during Ramadhan. The inspection covers restaurants, cafes, bakeries and food stores to make sure that they adhere to the health safety standards laid out by the local municipalities. Workers in hypermarkets have been asked to store plastic drinking water bottles away from direct sunlight as they pose health safety hazards.
