Burjeel Hospital launches new cardiac catheterisation laboratory

Muscat: On the occasion of the first anniversary of Burjeel Hospital in Muscat, Dr Shamsheer Vayalil, Chairman and Managing Director of VPS Healthcare, announced the opening of its state-of-the-art cardiac catheterisation laboratory.


Dr Asif Gani, Regional Director Muscat, Oman Burjeel Hospital and Medical Centers said, “In line with our MD’s vision of best possible healthcare for the people of Sultanate of Oman, we at Burjeel Hospital are extremely pleased to announce the opening of our Cardiac Cath Lab” The facility can be used for conducting angiograms, angioplasty stenting procedures and also for non-surgical closure of holes, defects and pacemaker implantation, among others, he added.


One of the most modern medical facilities in the Sultanate, Burjeel Hospital Al Khuwair, Muscat opened on July 31 last year. The premiere seven-star healthcare facility offers specialised medical treatment and services to the local communities in line with world-class standards and practices. The hospital provides all the core medical, paramedical, and support services delivered by well-trained, accredited and skilled professionals. The healthcare facility, which is part of the internationally recognised Burjeel Hospital headquartered in Abu Dhabi, UAE, includes clinical


teams from recognised hospitals and universities from Europe, the US and other countries.


Commenting on the occasion Dr Vayalil said, “We are extremely delighted to announce the opening of the state-of-the-art cardiac catheterisation laboratory at the Burjeel Hospital in Al Khuwair, Muscat. There could not have been a better occasion to announce this than on the hospital’s first anniversary in the country. This initiative is in sync with the commitment of VPS Healthcare in bringing quality healthcare to locals and residents of the Sultanate by investing in infrastructures which will improve the quality of life of our patients. The incidence of cardiovascular diseases is alarmingly on the rise in the region. As a medical provider, it is our responsibility to deliver the best healthcare, which will in turn improve the long-term economic growth of the country.”


“The cardiac catheterisation laboratory is part of our expansion plan, designed to strengthen our medical services and raise benchmarks in healthcare provision. Burjeel has a new medical centre coming up in Palm Mall”, he added.


Burjeel’s cardiac team is composed of Dr Adil al Reyami, Consultant Interventional Cardiologist; Dr Khalfan al Senaidi, Pediatric Cardiologist; Dr Ismail al Abri, Pediatric Cardiologist; Dr Levent Ozdemir, Specialist Interventional Cardiologist; and Dr Rajan, Consultant — Internal Medicine; and Dr Francy, Specialist — Internal Medicine.
