Muscat, APRIL 11 -

The British Council Muscat recently hosted their annual Oman-UK Alumni Network Dinner at the Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz Carlton Hotel, to bring together over 150 Omani students who have studied abroad in the UK.

“This marks the 3rd year of our UK-Oman alumni networking group. The annual gala dinner continues to bring together alumni from all walks of life to network, exchange knowledge and ideas and support UK graduates who have just returned to Oman. The dinner is a great way to celebrate and share the stories of UK Alumni who are working to contribute to their societies and their country,” said Sophie Partarrieu, Gulf Media Communications Manager, British Council.

Paul Hilder, Director of the British Council Muscat, welcomed guests to enjoy an evening of activities, networking and experience sharing, under the patronage of Jonathan Wilks, British Ambassador to Oman.

“The future of Oman relies on developing Human Resources including education, more than any other resources. People to people links between our two countries are important and the Oman-UK Alumni Network is a good example of these links,” said Jonathan Wilks, British Ambassador to Oman.

Wilks delivered a powerful welcome message to both students and dignitaries in attendance, conducting the speech in Arabic, highlighting the effective use of language to communicate globally.
