SALALAH: The Office of His Majesty the Sultan’s Adviser for Cultural Affairs organised a launching ceremony for the book titled “Philosophical Approach of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos,” by the Sudanese writer Dr Abdul Mon’em Hammat at the Land of Frankincense Museum in Al Baleed Archaeological Park in Salalah on Wednesday under the patronage of Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan al Busaidy, Minister of State and the Governor of Dhofar. Present at the book’s launching ceremony were Abdulaziz bin Mohammed al Rowas, His Majesty the Sultan’s Adviser for Cultural Affairs, members of the State Council, members of Majlis Ash’shura officials and those interested in cultural affairs.
Dr Abdul Hammat in his speech presented a brief introduction to the contents of the book “Philosophical Approach of Sultan Qaboos,” which contains ten chapters in 230 pages on the journey of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos and the philosophical aspects of His Majesty’s thought. He added that the book sheds light on the philosophical approach of His Majesty as the chapter’s deal with many aspects including knowledge building, tolerance, diligence, the role of reason, social justice, consultation, heritage and identity. He pointed out that His Majesty the Sultan is the pioneer of enlightenment in this age in dealing with the global human heritage and overcoming the cognitive challenges that hinder the progress of nations. — ONA
