BizOman Forum to focus on economic opportunities

Experts from a cross-section of the sectors will converge as part of BizOman Forum, ‘Opportunity in Challenge’ a two-day forum set to discuss the various opportunities available for the businesses in the country and how to sail through the challenging times on May 7 and 8 at the Hotel InterContinental.


The forum, to be held under the auspices of Talal Sulaiman al Rahbi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Planning, supported by Asyad, an initiative to transform Oman into an international logistics hub and OPAL, the Omani Society for Petroleum Services, will touch upon many facets of the economy.


“The present economic downturn is posing the national economy a range of challenges and the 2-day meeting of the experts will assess the issues and find solutions from within”, said Sabrah al Riyami, MD of Rahwah.


“The Forum will also focus on how businesses can find opportunities in the face of economic constraints while providing a platform to look at current key and debatable issues and is rich with insightful presentations and interesting case studies”, she added.


The BizOman Forum, ‘Opportunity in Challenge’ will address the ‘Future Economy of Oman’, ‘The Role of Economic Cities in Oman’s New Economy’, ‘Driving Efficiency through Lean’ among other topics of paramount importance in today’s economic scenario.


“We will revisit the issues facing the modern business world and find solutions to some of the perennial problems facing the business world”, Musallam al Mandhary, CEO, OPAL said, adding that, “The Forum will be addressing the current economic constraints, the strategies and policies necessary for companies to remain resilient, the future economy and how to position.”


Besides Talal Sulaiman al Rahbi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Planning, Raoul Restucci, Managing Director of PDO will deliver their keynote address while a number of plenary sessions and panel discussions with leading experts, Asyad and OPAL are planned as part of the Forum.


“Two workshops are planned as part of the conference where some of the bigwigs and high-level panels of financial and economic specialists with expertise in different fields will share knowledge with the participants”, said Manal al Kiyumi of Asyad.
