Muscat, Oct 9 - A total of 200 exhibitors from 18 countries are participating in the Oman Health Exhibition and Conference at the New Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The seventh edition of the three-day expo, recognised as the flagship health and medical event in the country, was opened by Dr Sultan bin Yarub al Busaidi, adviser to the Ministry of Health, on Monday.

One of the highlights of the show is the first-time association with Turkey as a country partner.

Another significant feature is the India Health Plus pavilion comprising top medical consultants and specialists from more than 30 leading hospitals in India. Adding value to the expo are pavilions of Germany, Thailand and Iran, now an emerging preferred medical destination for world-class treatment and services. It will feature consultants and medical specialists representing 30 hospitals.

Free medical consultations are also offered at the exhibition venue, while representatives from hospitals are offering information on ayurveda treatment.

Concurrent to the exhibition is a three-day scientific conference, organised in conjunction with the Ministry of Health and the Oman Medical Association.

The conference features a notable line-up of highly acclaimed local and international speakers who will discuss issues, challenges and case studies in medicine, surgery, paediatrics, ENT/ophthalmology, gynaecology, emergency and trauma.

The meet has enlisted the support of ICT Healthcare, a market leader in enterprise health IT; Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre, one of the best multi-specialty hospitals in India and one of the largest private healthcare facilities in South Asia; Aster DM Healthcare, one of the largest and fastest-growing conglomerates in the MENA region; and the Ministry of Health, Turkey.

The exhibition is open from 11 am to 8 pm. Conference hours are from 9 am to 3 pm.
