MUSCAT, JULY 15 - BankDhofar recorded a net profit after tax of RO 22.694 million for the first six months of this year ending on June 30, 2017. This compares with net earnings of RO 26.167 million for the corresponding period of 2016, registering a decline of 13.2 per cent.
Announcing it initial unaudited consolidated conventional and Maisarah Islamic Banking Services financial results, the bank reported that total assets however grew 4.77 per cent to reach RO 3.976 billion this year, up from RO 3.795 billion last year. Net loans and advances to customers also increased 9.57 per cent to RO 3.113 billion this year, from RO 2.841 billion last year. Deposits from customers climbed 8.45 per cent to RO 2.977 billion this year compared to RO 2.745 billion last year.
Net profit after tax from its conventional banking operations dipped 9.90 per cent to RO 21.991 million this year from RO 24.408 million last year. Net profit/loss after tax from its Islamic Banking operations slumped 60 per cent to RO 0.703 million this year, down from RO 1.759 million last year.
