Bank Muscat supports Conde Nast conference to promote Oman as luxury tourist destination

MUSCAT: Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, in step with its ‘Let’s Do More’ vision and Imprints social responsibility initiative, extended support and participated in the Conde Nast Luxury conference at Shangri La Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa.


Hosted for the first time in the Middle East, Bank Muscat’s association with the prestigious event came within the framework of promoting the Sultanate’s sustainable tourism industry.


Bank Muscat is closely involved in the country’s tourism development projects, complementing the government endeavours to promote Oman as a unique destination and boost the national economy.


Bank Muscat nominated promoters of seven small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to attend the leadership sessions organised under the umbrella of the conference.


The session was aimed at supporting SMEs and providing a platform for them to interact with experts in the luxury, fashion and retail sectors.


In step with the government’s economic diversification programme, the bank’s Imprints initiative has embarked on a programme in association with the Ministry of Tourism to support start-ups, encouraging Omani entrepreneurship in the tourism sector.


The programme supports Omani youth to initiate projects at Oman’s diverse tourist attractions, thereby ensuring a sustainable source of income for the local community. The bank reckons prestigious global events such as Conde Nast Luxury conference opens up new avenues to attract the world to the Sultanate to experience the distinct tourist attractions and vibrant heritage and culture.


The bank is confident that the initiative showcasing Oman on a global platform will yield rich dividend in promoting the country as a unique destination.


The Conde Nast Luxury conference jointly hosted by the Ministry of Tourism, Omran and Oman Air, marks a new chapter in the development of Oman’s luxury, fashion and retail industries, targeting affluent travelers in the niche luxury tourism segment.


Themed ‘Mindful Luxury – Navigating the new Silk Routes’, the conference was attended by a diverse mix of business and fashion leaders from across the world to explore the changing concept of luxury and the future of fashion, luxury and retail industry.


Oman’s identity as a maritime trading hub is closely linked to the world of fashion, luxury and international business.


Showcasing Oman’s key tourism players, the conference spotlighted Oman as a destination renowned for its rich heritage and culture as well as a major responsible luxury tourist destination.
