MUSCAT: Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, in recognition of its partnership in sustainable social development, was honoured by Al Noor Association for the Blind at a ceremony coinciding with the International Day of the Disabled held under the auspices of Shaikh Mohammed bin Said al Kalbani, Minister of Social Development. Ahmed al Ojaili, Senior AGM —Business Solutions and Applications, received the memento from the guest of honour on the occasion.

Early this year, the bank as part of its ‘Let’s Do More’ vision extended support to Al Noor Association for the Blind and donated 54 air-conditioning units for the association’s new head office in Bausher. The support came as part of the bank’s Tadhamun corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, aimed at enhancing facilities for the vision impaired to help them integrate with mainstream society.

Ahmed al Ojaili said: “Bank Muscat is delighted to extend a helping hand to the visually challenged and enhance facilities to improve their social and economic status. We are optimistic that improved facilities will encourage them to positively contribute to development of the country. Bank Muscat is committed to sustainable social development by working closely with local communities, especially the special needs segment, with the aim of improving work environment and enhancing skills in a manner that contributes to national development.”

Ibrahim bin Hamdoon al Harthi, Chairman of Al Noor Association for the Blind, thanked Bank Muscat for the support benefiting the vision impaired citizens. “The generous support extended by the bank has enhanced the work environment at the association premises. With its involvement in the nation’s social development, Bank Muscat’s CSR programmes are role models of public-private partnership benefiting society.”
