MUSCAT: Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, in recognition of its commitment to sustainable social development, was honoured by the Ministry of Social Development at an event attended by dignitaries, senior government and private sector officials. The guest of honour, Dr Abdulmunim bin Mansour al Hasani, Minister of Information, presented the plaque of honour to the bank for its contribution to developing a football field for Al Aman Centre for the Handicapped in Al Khoudh.
Al Aman Centre provides therapeutic and rehabilitation services aimed at integrating physically challenged children into mainstream society. The centre, which has over 300 children under its care, regularly conducts programmes to raise awareness on disability issues and how to deal with them.
The support for Al Aman Centre complements the bank’s Green Sports initiative to promote Oman as a sporting nation. The Green Sports initiative launched by Bank Muscat in 2012 has gained momentum with a total of 93 sports teams across the Sultanate benefiting from the support to green their fields till date.
