Bank Muscat extends support to tourism media conference

MUSCAT: Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, in step with its vision ‘To serve you better, everyday’ and commitment to partnership in sustainable development, extended support to a conference on tourism media hosted by the Arab Centre for Tourism Media in Salalah. Fifty-five journalists from across the region specialised in the field of tourism and hospitality sector attended the conference held as part of Salalah Festival 2018 which concluded on 25 August. The conference was aimed at enhancing the skills of Omani journalists specialised in tourism media and to position the Sultanate as a leading tourist destination, especially the tourist attractions in Dhofar governorate.


Committed to making Salalah Festival a great success, Bank Muscat seeks to serve as a focal point in the preservation of Oman’s rich heritage and culture, encouraging people to maintain a strong link to the glorious legacy, thereby reinforcing the Sultanate’s distinct cultural character. The ‘Oscar for Arab Tourism Media’ was held as part of the conference to honor outstanding Arab journalists. Bank Muscat pursues a dynamic communication policy, maintaining strong relations with the media. The bank reckons that a strong media is required to support the efforts of development and serve as an effective tool in showcasing the achievements of the country.


The bank commended the efforts of Omani journalists for playing an important role in supporting the progress and development of Oman. The support to the conference comes in appreciation of the important role played by media in the development march of Oman. As the nation’s leading financial institution, the bank aims to convey the message of support to all segments of society in contributing to the development of Oman. In step with the government’s economic diversification programme, the Imprints CSR initiative launched by the bank is the first-of-its-kind in Oman in terms of its scope and reach. Imprints has four key themes focused on inculcating financial literacy, sustaining green environment, encouraging an enriched lifestyle and promoting sustainable tourism.
