Badr Al Samaa, Barka upgraded to hospital status

MUSCAT: Badr Al Samaa Group has upgraded their polyclinic at Barka to an advanced multi-specialty hospital. The 10-year-old polyclinic redeveloped and upgraded its facilities and services to cater to the healthcare needs of the community better. The expanded 80-bedded hospital will be inaugurated tomorrow, September 24 at 5 pm by Shaikh Saad bin Mohammed al Saadi, Minister of Sports Affairs. Dr Mazin al Khabouri, Director-General of Private Health Establishments, will be the guest of honour.


The inaugural ceremony will be attended by P A Mohammed, Dr V T Vinod and Abdul Latheef, Managing Directors, Badr Al Samaa Group of Hospitals and Polyclinics, along with dignitaries from embassies, corporate officials, insurance companies and social organisations.


The expanded facilities include state of the art imaging equipments and services with provision for cardiac care, all major and minor surgeries. The expanded hospital, from two storeys to four storeys, underwent a massive aesthetic facelift through extensive refurbishing and renovation. Three state-of-the-art renovated operation theatres are launched, equipped to handling all kinds of General, Orthopaedic, Urological, Neurological, Gynaec, ENT and Ophthalmic cases.


In addition to that, a modern Endoscopy Suite, Labor Suite, CCU, MICU, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and CT Scan are available. Suites comprising of deluxe and super deluxe rooms are also made available to offer world class services to the public. A dedicated room for recovery and recuperation with an array of skilled workforce compliment to these facilities.


The hospital offers leading-edge treatments and services, ranging from cardiac care and general surgery, laparoscopic surgery (key hole surgery), laser surgeries for haemorrhoids and vericocoele to diagnostic imaging and other services.


“Barka residents will be able to seek healthcare services at the expanded facility which is upgraded to the status of advanced multi-specialty hospital,” said directors P A Mohammed, Dr V T Vinod and Abdul Latheef. To mark this occasion, Badr Al Samaa Hospital, Barka, is offering free consultations from September 25 to 27.


It ensures that residents of Barka will have access to advanced medical care at its current location and benefit from bigger space with increased service capacity such as having more counters at registration, more service rooms and a hi-tech laboratory, radiology and other facilities. The building is compliant with JCI standards with more spacious bed-lifts, disabled friendly toilets and ramps for wheelchair access.
