Asaad visits Royal Regalia Museum

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: His Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tareq al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, and the delegation visited Royal Regalia Museum in the Brunei capital Bandar Seri Begawan on Saturday.


HH Sayyid Asaad expressed his admiration over the ancient traditions and unique royal heritage he saw in the museum.


At the end of the visit, HH Sayyid Asaad wrote in the visitors’ book in which he expressed his happiness for visiting the museum and his admiration of the ancient history and heritage confirming the strong relations binding the Sultanate with Brunei Darussalam.

The main display at the entrance hall is a huge Royal Chariot, a “gold-leafed winged chariot” that was used for the parade carrying the Sultan through the streets of the city on the occasion of his 1992 silver jubilee celebration. Other exhibits include the artefacts that were used for royal ceremonies in the country, the gold and silver ceremonial weaponry, crowns embedded with jewels, and other paraphernalia that formed part of the coronation ceremonies, and ceremonial costumes.


HH Sayyid Asaad expressed his admiration for what he saw in the museum and stressed the strong relations and ties between the Sultanate and Brunei Darussalam. HH Sayyid Asaad also presented souvenirs to the museum. — ONA
