SQU, University College Dublin to boost ties

MUSCAT: Dr Rahma al Mahrooqi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Postgraduate Studies and Research at Sultan Qaboos University, received in her office a delegation from University College Dublin, Ireland. The members of the delegation included Professor Dolores O’Riordan, University College Dublin’s Vice-President for Global Engagement and Professor Joe Carthy, the Dean of Science. The two sides discussed potential areas of collaboration between the two institutions. Salahadeen al Saadi, the Director of the International Cooperation Office at SQU attended the meet.


The two parties exchanged information about the two institutions. They also explored the possibility of research cooperation between the two universities in areas related to food science, water security, innovation, entrepreneurship, energy studies and various other areas. Since the two universities have similar foci in research and postgraduate studies, they have agreed to start cooperating in these mutual areas of interest in the very near future.
