MUSCAT: The orientation programme of the 32nd batch of undergraduate students, admitted for the academic year 2017-2018, at Sultan Qaboos University, commenced on Sunday.
The programme included lectures, meetings and tours which aims at introducing the new students to campus life, academic programmes, services and facilities offered by the university.
Dr Ali bin Saud al Bimani, Vice-Chancellor of SQU, addressed the students and talked about academic and campus life. As part of the orientation programme, an exhibition on services provided for the students was also held.
The placement tests in Mathematics, English and IT for the new students will be held during the induction week from August 22 to 29.
The university has received through the Higher Education Admission Centre 3,000 undergraduate students and more than 300 postgraduate students who will be enrolled for more than 60 programmes offered by the nine colleges at SQU.
Through the electronic admission system “Meelad”, the students will complete the process of admission and registration formalities. The students can access the website and fill out the application online.
