Proudest day for Oman

This is the proudest day for Oman. Citizens and residents alike come together to celebrate the day and express their gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos for the achievements during 47 years under his wise leadership.

This is also the day for the people of Oman to reiterate their loyalty and renew their allegiance to the country’s beloved leader. It is thanks to His Majesty’s wise vision that Oman has become a modern state that provides a decent living, security and safety to the citizens and residents alike.

Since the day he took to the throne, His Majesty, with a fatherly approach, has outlined numerous initiatives and made efforts to achieve prosperity in the country. The safety, security and stability that the Sultanate is enjoying today stem from His Majesty’s keenness and vision.

Both at indigenous and global forums, the Sultanate has always stressed on peace, understanding and peaceful coexistence. Thanks to these credible policies and stances, His Majesty has been hailed and recognised by leaders of the region and the world. The Sultanate has very solid relations with various countries. While promoting peace and stability in the region, the Sultanate has been also keen on building strong armed forces that can defend the nation and maintain the fruits of the development process.

Oman believes in negotiation principle to solve disputes and settle them in a peaceful way based on mutual respect, international law principles, non-interference in other states’ domestic affairs and maintaining cooperation. In spite of the weak oil prices, the economic condition in the Sultanate is stable in general. Both the current Ninth Plan and Tanfeedh, the National Programme for Enhancing Economic Diversification, aim to help the economy weather adverse headwinds.

His Majesty has also been very ardent that he ensured the active involvement of his people in all walks of life.

In all his speeches, he underscored the need to encourage youths to develop their talents and called on them to upgrade their level of training so that they could benefit from available opportunities whether they are jobs or businesses.

While the Sultanate is in the midst of celebrations for the 47th National Day, Oman Daily Observer and its staff extent hearty wishes to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos and pray to the Almighty Allah to protect the leader with good health, wellbeing and a long life.
