Injured Omani football fans return home

Muscat, Jan 7 - Omani football fans who were injured in a freak incident in Kuwait returned home in a special flight on Sunday after they were discharged from the hospital. Several high-level officials of the Kuwait government were present at the airport to bid them farewell. Some fans, including their families, will undergo treatment for a few more days, said officials quoting the head of Kuwait Football Federation. Forty football fans from Oman, including children, were injured when a glass barrier broke during celebrations following Oman’s win over UAE in the Gulf Cup. The barrier broke as Omani fans pressed against the glass during the celebrations.
