Karnataka Wing emerge champions in Salalah

SALALAH: Indian Social Club Salalah concluded the Annual Underarm Cricket Tournament. The mega sports event was the culmination of a 20-day long tournament played between 16 teams. ISC Salalah Chairman Manpreet Singh welcomed the audience. “ISC has conducted underarm cricket for many years now and we are really happy that this time, we had a record-breaking sixteen teams taking part,” said Manpreet Singh in his welcome address.


Sports Secretaries Ajith and Binoy P were in charge of the tournament. The final was played between Karnataka Wing-A and Marathi Wing. The Karnataka Wing won the title by 8 runs after a nail-biting match. Karnataka Wing-A scored 50 runs in their innings, while Marathi Wing ended at 42 runs.


Champions Karnataka Wing-A were honoured by Manpreet Singh and runners-up Marathi Wing were felicitated by Ajith, while General Secretary Hridhya S Menon hosted the ceremony and honoured Lalit, the man of the match. Vice-chairman Mohandas and all the Management Committee members gave away the prizes for the remaining prizes. Cultural secretary Ramesh Kumar proposed the vote of thanks and drew curtains on the ceremony.
