Movie buffs in the country will soon have to forget the way they watched cinemas in the past, with the birth of the Laser-Projector cinema. A laser projector is a device that projects changing laser beams on a screen to create a moving image on the screen and it consists of a housing that contains lasers, mirrors, galvanometer scanners, and other optical components.

Experienced film aficionados said an IMAX film is a completely different experience to seeing a movie in a regular theatre, and the next generation digital projection technology is lasers which give a matchless feeling to the whole experience.

This will be a random shift to the digital projectors with a major upgrade. An agreement for the First Laser Projector cinema in Oman was signed between Al Muzn Oman Commercial with Lunar Cinema, which is known to have the first cinema that offered families to watch their favourite movies in comfort with just their family members and friends.

Oman’s first laser projected cinema will be open at Al Muzn Mall in November this year where the audience is set for a unique experience at the Middle East’s first public-private cinema venue alongside a host of integrated leisure and hospitality facilities at stylish new address.

“Soon cinema-goers can choose the film they want to see and watch it whenever they want to with the privacy of their own VIP suite. Lunar Cinemas has innovated the Middle Eastern market with a new vision for films in the Sultanate. We are incredibly pleased to have concluded our partnership with Al Muzn Mall, which comprises our third venue nationwide”, Khalid al Nabhani, CEO of Lunar Cinemas, told the Observer.

The most-awaited cinema will have three VIP suites with 42 seats and dining facilities, as well as a public hall seating 80 spectators with regular daily shows.

“This Laser-Projector Cinema will offer an exceptional entertainment venue catering to residents from across the city because we don’t only offer a cutting-edge movie experience, we offer the privacy sought by many in Oman,” said Majd Machfej General Manager of Al Muzn Oman Commercial.
