Oman participates in transport ministers’ council meeting

CAIRO: The Sultanate of Oman took part in the 37th session meeting of the Arab Transport Ministers’ Council, the 73rd session meeting of the executive council and the 29th session meeting of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.


The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation in the meetings was headed by Abdullah bin Nasser al Rahbi, Oman’s Ambassador to Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League.


Meanwhile, Oman’s delegation at the meeting of the executive council was headed by Adviser Dr Ahmed bin Salim Ja’aboub.


The meetings discussed means of supporting the Palestinian economy, implementing the strategic plan for sectoral development in Jerusalem (2018-2022), and enhancing integration among Arab countries in the fields of land, sea and air transport, with the aim of facilitating the movement of transport and inter-trade.


The meetings addressed means of promoting the transport sector infrastructure to contribute to achieving sustainable development and keeping pace with modern technological developments, as well as cooperation in the areas of security and safety for maritime and air transport, in a bid to enhance passenger safety and reduce risks. - ONA
