Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) is joining hands with a number of Omani public and private sector organisations in organising a key investment conference in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on March 2, 2023 to showcase opportunities for investment in the Omani capital market.

The upcoming forum is the second in the series of conferences organised by MSX spotlighting investment opportunities in listed and soon-to-be-listed Omani firms. The first event in the series was held in Muscat last September and attracted a number of major companies lined up for public subscription under an exit plan outlined by Oman Investment Authority.

The Riyadh conference is also backed by Ominvest, OQ Gas Networks and Bank Muscat.

In a statement, MSX CEO Haitham bin Salem al Salmi said the Riyadh forum will provide a powerful platform, given Saudi Arabia’s importance as the biggest Arab economy and the 20th largest in the world.

Participating companies will be afforded a great opportunity to expand partnerships with Saudi businesses, whether in the securities sector or in other economic sectors. In addition, there will be opportunities for networking with large number of Gulf, regional and international investors.

Al Salmi stressed that the conference stems from MSX’s keenness to highlight investment opportunities in the Omani capital market, which is undergoing a major transformation led by Muscat Stock Exchange which is being corporatised as it prepares for a new role on the global stage.

In addition to targeting regional and international investment funds, listed firms will have the opportunity to present their future plans to investors in the region, and attract the attention of the regional investment community towards companies listed on the Omani bourse.

Furthermore, the conference will encourage listed companies to increase their capital by partnering with regional and global investors.
