Summit: GCC will remain a reliable source of energy

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received congratulations from Prince Mohammed bin Salman al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, on the occasion of the Sultanate of Oman’s assumption of the presidency of the 43rd session of the Supreme Council, wishing His Majesty success.


The delegation of the Sultanate of Oman, on behalf of His Majesty the Sultan was headed by His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Cabinet Affairs, at the 43rd summit of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which began its work in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.


Prince Mohammed bin Salman al Saud stresses in his opening speech that close cooperation between the Gulf states will lead to achieving the desired goals.

The Gulf countries will remain a reliable source of energy in the world.


The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia intends to present a new vision to enhance and develop Gulf work.


Need to find a political solution to the Yemeni crisis.


Important to establish an independent Palestinian state based on the Arab initiative.


Continuation of joint action to confront climate change and the serious endeavor to limit its effects.


HH Sayyid Fahd is accompanied by a delegation comprising Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed al Saeedi, Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, Dr. Said bin Mohammed al Saqri, Minister of Economy, and HH Sayyid Faisal bin Turki al Said, Oman’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.


HH Sayyid Fahd also attended the GCC-Chinese Summit for Cooperation and Development in Riyadh Friday.


At the GCC-Chinese, Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman said, "The GCC countries are looking forward to cooperating with China in various fields and taking it to broader horizons. The Gulf countries discussed with the Chinese side the establishment of a Chinese-Gulf free trade zone."


The GCC countries are exploring opportunities for cooperation with China in the areas of food security and supply chains.


Chinese President Xi Jinping calls for strengthening the Gulf-Chinese economic partnership, achieving integration, and advancing development.


The Chinese president welcomed the participation of the Gulf countries in the global security initiative and added, "We are working to establish the Chinese Gulf Center for Nuclear Security."


The Chinese president stresses that his country will work to increase the import of crude oil and liquefied natural gas from the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States.
