MUSCAT: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism on Monday announced the winners of a competition for short promotional films in the categories of nature tourism, adventure and maritime tourism and cultural and heritage tourism. Photographers Sultan bin Nasser al Ruqaishi, Omar bin Ahmed al Busaidy and Nadir bin Khadabakhs al Balushi, won the prizes in the categories of adventure and nature tourism. Photographers Mohammed bin Ali al Balushi and Ahmed bin Nabeel al Lawati won the awards in the maritime tourism category while the prize for heritage and cultural tourism went to Salim bin Hamdan al Hajri.
The competition aims to promote tourism and heritage fields that are peculiar to the Sultanate of Oman and highlight the natural components that contribute to attracting local and international tourists, supporting young talents and encouraging them to participate with their innovative works in the production of high quality short promotional films that highlight the beauty of the Sultanate of Oman and introduce tourist and heritage attractions in various governorates and wilayats. — ONA
