Muscat: Omantel League champions Seeb ended their concluding game of the 2021-22 top-tier league against Dhofar with a 1-1 draw late on Saturday.

At the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, Seeb players were crowned champions as they secured the second straight OL title. The Muscat-based team ended the season on a great note as they claimed both the top domestic titles by winning the HM Cup and Omantel League.

The champions topped the league table with 55 points including 16 triumphs, seven draws and three defeats. It was the second time that Seeb won the title, the previous being in 2019-20.

At the end of the match, Shaikh Talal al Mamari, CEO of Omantel League, gave away the league shield to Seeb captain in presence of a big crowd of club supporters. The final ceremony of the league was attended by Shaikh Salim al Wahaibi, OFA chairman, and officials.

With the league and HM Cup triumphs, Seeb are equipped well to begin their campaign at 2022 AFC Cup on a strong note as they host Group A matches at Seeb Stadium. Seeb will meet Syria’s Jebleh SC club on Wednesday while they will face three times AFC Cup champions Kuwait SC on Saturday. The concluding game will be against Lebanon’s Al Ansar club on Tuesday.
