Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman’s Embassy in Ankara, Turkey, has advised Omani citizens to carry their passports at all times.
The embassy said in a statement: "The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman calls upon citizens visiting Turkey to carry identification documents, including passports, when they are outdoors, to be able to show them to the security authorities when necessary to avoid the long investigation and detention procedures.
It may be noted that there is an identity verification campaign and strict measures against foreigners, in particular, carried out in the city of Istanbul."
