Oman national under-19 football team concluded an internal preparatory camp in Muscat on Thursday.

The seven-day warm-up gathering featured two friendly games against Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) team and Transportation team from the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF). In both preparatory matches, Oman boys suffered losses as they lost to RNO 2-1 and 3-1 against SAF.

The camp was part of the team’s preparation to take part in the AFC U20 Asian Cup Qualifiers from September 10 to 18.

It was the third domestic camp for the team under supervision of David Gordo, head coach of Oman under-19 team. The third appearance of the team featured attendance of four Omani players who are playing at Spain leagues including Nasser al Saqri and Khalid al Sulaimi (Pinatar Club de Futbol), Salim al Abdali (Celta de Vigo FC) and Tariq al Saadi (Queen's Park FC).

Moreover, the third camp registered the first official friendly matches under watchful eyes of the Spanish coach since he took charge of the team in last February. The friendly fixtures gave better idea for the coaching staff on players performances ahead of the forthcoming assignment.

The first short domestic camp took place during March 30 until April 1 while the second part of the camp was during mid of April. All the sessions focused on improving the fitness of the players. Also, the coaching staff worked on development of the physical and technical performance sides.

Coach David Gordo opted some new faces during the last camp.
