Oman blank Bahrain to conclude camp

Oman beach soccer team concluded their first domestic camp on a successful note as they registered third successive victory against Bahrain team.


After a gap of many months, coach Talib Hilal’s men returned to thick of action and managed to defeat Bahrain team in three games as apart of the team’s preparations to take part in the West Asian Federation Championship which will be held in Saudi Arabia from May 15 to 21.


In the first preparatory match against Bahrain on Wednesday, Oman prevailed 4-0.


Oman’s goals were scored by Nouh al Battashi, Mashal al Oraimi, Salim al Oraimi and Nouh al Zadjali.


In the following warm-up game, Oman team repeated their triumph but with a 7-3 win on Thursday. Abdullah al Souti was the super star of the second friendly match as he netted four of Oman’s goals, while Sami al Balushi and Nouh al Zadjali (two goals) etched their names on the scoresheet.


On Friday, the Sultanate of Oman beach soccer team confirmed their domination on Bahraini team as they ended the third friendly game with a 5-1 win.


In this game, Abdullah al Souti, Nouh al Battashi (two goals), Yahya al Buraiki and Younis al Owaisi were on target for the hosts.


Besides the three warm-up games, the national beach soccer team had training sessions including some sessions on physical and fitness sides. Moreover, the 15-day camp in Ramadhan was an initial gathering for the team and will be followed by an intensive internal gathering ahead of travelling to Saudi later in May. The next camp will take place after Eid break from May 6 to 14.


The first camp featured attendance of many experienced players and some new youth faces. The coaching staff of the team provided equal chances for the team squad to participate in all the friendly matches against Bahrain to evaluate the performance of the players ahead of the first assignment in Saudi Arabia.


Head coach Talib Hilal and his assistant team will finalise the staring list in the coming camp before West Asian Federation Championship event.
