London: Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech announced on Tuesday he will be retire from football at the end of the season. Cech, 36, joined Arsenal in 2015 after 11 seasons at Chelsea in which the former Czech Republic goalkeeper earned his place as one of the best shot stoppers in the world. Having lost his starting spot to Bernd Leno this season and in the final year of his contract, Cech said it “felt like the right time” to call time on his career. — DPA
