Arrests made in the killing of Arabian Ibex

Muscat: Arrests have been  made in the case related to the killing of an Arabian Ibex in a nature reserve of Jebel Kahwan.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs, “The suspects were apprehended for killing endangered species in the Jebel Kahwan Nature Reserve of South Al Sharqiyah Governorate.  A car of one of the suspects was discovered in one of the wadis while they were preparing to go fishing. Wildlife observers were tracking their movements, successfully launched a raid, confiscated what they had, and turned them over to the authorities.”

The ministry said the suspects were now under investigation, and urged asked citizens, residents and tourists not cooperate in wildlife and environment conservation.
