MUSCAT, Sept 2 – The main organising committee discussed the Sultanate’s preparation to host the second edition of Arabian Mountains Cycling. The tournament will be held from November 16 to 20. Saif al Rushaidi, Chairman of Oman Cycling Committee (OCC), presided over the meeting which occurred at the headquarter of Oman Olympic Committee recently in presence of members of main organising committee and representatives of government and private sectors. During the meeting, Al Rushaidi appreciated all the efforts that have been taken in the previous period. He mentioned that the committee hosted many GCC, Arabian and international events.
The second edition of the Arabian Mountains Cycling is an extension to further successful events organised in the Sultanate. Also, it is a great chance for Omani cyclists to score honourable results. Through the tournament, the OCC is looking to spread cycling and encourage young people to take part in this sport. In addition, the committee wants to promote a healthy lifestyle through cycling spreading the message of environment conservation. The OCC will highlight the tourism and natural diversity of the Sultanate through the Arabian tournament as well as supporting the Arab and international racing schedules. During the meeting, chairman and members of committee reviewed the proposed route of race and other things related to the tournament.
