Arab social ministers meet

CAIRO: The Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Social Development, took part in the 36th session of the Arab Social Affairs Ministers Council, which began on Thursday in Cairo.
The Sultanate’s delegation at the meeting was led by Shaikh Mohammed bin Said al Kalbani, Minister of Social Development. The session discussed various problems related to poverty and development in the Arab countries, in addition to the five-yearly draft plan of the Council of Arab Social Affairs Ministers 2017-2021.
The session also followed-up on implementation of the 2030 objectives of sustainable development in its social dimensions and the preparations for the 28th session of the Arab League Council scheduled for March 2017. — ONA
