Aquatic Resources Law referred to State Council

MUSCAT: Majlis Ash’shura on Tuesday referred the report of the Food and Water Security Committee on the draft Living Aquatic Resources Law to the State Council. The session was held under the chairmanship of Shaikh Khalid bin Hilal al Maawali, Chairman of Majlis Ash’shura. During the session, the report was read by Hilal bin Said al Yahyaee, Head of the Food and Water Security Committee. The committee has already hosted a number of entities related to its work in the living aquatic resources sector in the Sultanate.


The committee also met with experts from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs and the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries. During the meeting, Majlis Ash’shura expressed its views on the vision of the Services and Social Development Committee on the amendment of the Convention on the Organization of Air Transport Services between Sultanate and the Government of State of Kuwait, the two draft Maritime Agreements between Sultanate, Turkey and India, and the draft Air Services Agreement between Oman and Afghanistan. On the sidelines of the meeting, the Majlis Ash’shura was briefed on the convention for the establishment of the Global Dryland Alliance. — ONA
