Muscat Municipality has said that owners of multi-storey buildings not complying with cleaning, pest control and proper disposal of waste will be fined RO 300 and a three-days deadline to rectify the violation.
Muscat: As part of the efforts to control the spread of edes aegypti (dengue) mosquitoes, Muscat Municipality has warned the local population, especially those responsible for the maintenance of apartments, farms, plots, health facilities, water well and storage tanks to take measures and precautions to prevent the breeding of rodents and the proliferation and spread of mosquitoes, flies and other insects.
Urging the people to comply with the instructions of the municipality and health authorities, it said house occupants and owners (Under Article 48 of the local order No. 1/2006 have full responsibility ( throughout the construction period and after) to control the growth and spread of pests, rodents and stray animals.
