MUSCAT: Oman Investment & Finance Company (Khedmah) celebrated its annual open day organised at Al Nahda Resort in Barka for the employees of the company and their families, as a ceremony of expression of gratitude towards His Majesty Sultan Qaboos. The event included many recreational and sports activities to bring happiness to the participating children of the company’s employees and the child care centre. The company distributed gifts and games to the children, who added joy to the ceremony, as well as senior citizens from the Oman parents care team. This was part of the company’s social responsibility.
The organising committee surprised the people present by honouring the goalkeeper of the Omani national team Faiz al Rushaidi. Al Rushaidi was greeted by participants with a rousing ovation and waving the national flag. Said bin Ahmed Safrar, Chief Executive Officer of the OIFC said the celebrations were also an occasion to discuss the company’s new business plans. The plan is based on the idea of more attention on technology and improvement of the company’s products, which can be more helpful in collection of electricity, water and communications’ bills throughout the Sultanate.
The first of such technologies and products which the company has worked on recently was launch of a mobile phone application. It is one of the high-tech products which have made the payment of bills and phone recharge easy and saved time and efforts. He said the new application was part of a range of modern technologies and methods of payment which has been made available everywhere in the Sultanate. There are electronic payment facilities available 24 hours a day, in addition to payment services in shopping centres and malls. Most recently, it started a payment service through its website which is compatible with all accounting systems for all companies operating in the Sultanate.
