MUSCAT: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources continues monitoring the availability of agricultural products in central markets as part of its efforts to enhance market stability and ensure the availability of food products prior to Eid Al Adha.
The ministry confirmed the availability of various types of leafy green vegetables, fruit vegetables, and root crops, in addition to fruits. This, the ministry said, reflects the stability of supplies and continued flow of products to local markets.
It noted that statistics show that the Salal market received more than 20,000 tonnes of vegetables and fruits between May 1 and 20, which enhances the readiness of markets to meet the increased consumer needs during the holidays.
The ministry pointed out that monitoring and field surveillance of central markets help maintain market stability and ensure the availability of food products before Eid Al Adha. — ONA
