MUSCAT: Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, received in his office on Thursday George Furey, Speaker of the Canadian Senate, and his accompanying delegation, currently visiting the Sultanate. The two sides discussed the cordial relations between the Sultanate and Canada, as well as means of promoting them to serve the joint interests between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by Dr Mohammed bin Awadh al Hassan, acting Under-Secretary of the Foreign Ministry for Diplomatic Affairs, Dennis Horak, Canadian non-resident Ambassador to the Sultanate and officials at the Foreign Ministry.
SCP SECY-GEN RECEIVES
Meanwhile, Sultan bin Salim al Habsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Planning (SCP) received in his office on Thursday George Furey, Speaker of the Canadian Senate and his accompanying delegation.
The two sides exchanged conversations on the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
They also reviewed topics related to areas of potential investments between the two countries particularly in economic sectors that will receive focus during the 9th Five Year Plan, in addition to other topics of common concern.
