NEW YORK: Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, held talks with Mohammed Jawad Zarif, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iran, and Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj at the Permanent Mission of the Sultanate in New York. During the informal tripartite meeting, the importance of strengthening relations between the three countries in the economic field, especially in the energy sector, was discussed. Jawad said the meeting discussed the possibility of developing relations and cooperation among the three countries which have a strong friendship. Alawi said views were exchanged on how to benefit from Iranian gas as well as the mechanisms for overcoming challenges of transporting oil and gas. On the nuclear deal and President Trump’s position, Jawad said the US president had taken a decision on the nuclear agreement, but did not disclose it. “But all the countries unanimously agree this nuclear agreement is a global achievement, not bilateral.” — ONA
