Al Suwaiq look for victory against Dhofar

Muscat, May 1 - After a two-day break, leaders Al Suwaiq will be looking to pocket three points against Dhofar in the Omantel League to strengthen their top spot in the 19th week at the Salalah Youth Complex. The fourth-placed Al Nasr travel to face Al Nahdha at Al Buraimi Sports Complex. Fanja will take on Suhar at the Seeb Stadium while Al Shabab will meet Muscat at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex. Al Salam will host Al Mudhaibi at Sohar Sports Complex while Al Oruba travel to face Saham at the same venue. There will be important fixtures between Mirbat and Oman club at Salalah Youth Complex.


North Al Batinah giants, Al Suwaiq will hope to rekindle the memories of the last season’s HM Cup finals as they won against Dhofar in the final. On the other hand, Husam al Deen’s boys know that they will have to up the ante to get themselves away from the danger zone. “It is one of the clash matches in the league. We prepared well for this match. We respect Dhofar team who are giants of Salalah,” Hakeem Shaker, head coach of al Swaiq said.


“There are many professional players in the Dhofar team and last round they achieved victory. Therefore, the team has got a positive push for today’s match,” the Iraqi man added. On the other hand, Husam al Deen, coach of Dhofar, said that the match is very competitive for both teams.  “Al Suwaiq want to extend its lead at the top spot of league table while Dhofar would look to run away from relegation zone,” Husam al Deen added.
