Al Salam, Suhar to lock horns for Omantel Volleyball League title

MUSCAT, April 4 - Muscat: Al Salam will take on Suhar in the final match of the Oman Volleyball Association (OVA) first division league at the indoor hall of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on Tuesday. Seeb will clash with Bahla Club in the third place match at the same venue.


The final, to be played at the indoor hall of Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher, is scheduled to start at 6 pm under the auspices of Shaikh Rashad bin Ahmed al Hinai, Under-Secretary of Ministry of Sports Affairs in presence of dignitaries and officials.


Al Salam secured their position in the final match of the league after achieving an aggregate of wins in eight matches of the first round. The North al Batinah team managed to win in all matches and beat Ibri, Bahla and Oman U-19 team 3/0 in the first round and beat Sohar 3-1 and Seeb 3-2.


In the second round, Al Salam continued their victories against Oman U-19 team, Ibri, Bahla and Suhar 3-0 and won against Seeb 3-1.


Suhar reached the final after they picked up an aggregate victory in the first and second rounds.


In first round, Suhar registered three victories with a 3-0 margin against Oman U-19 team, Ibri and Bahla. Suhar suffered two losses at the hands of Seeb 3-0 and Al Salam 3-1. In the finals round, Suhar strengthened their position with two crucial victories against Seeb 3-0 and 3-1. A total of six teams took part in the first division of volleyball league.
