Al Nasr outplay Majees in style

MUSCAT, Sept 29 - Al Nasr registered a thumping 3-0 win over Majees in their Omantel League match on Saturday evening.In another match, Sohar and Sur played out a 1-1 draw. Earlier, on Friday, Saham registered their fourth successive victory with a narrow 1-0 win over Al Rustaq at the Sohar Sports Complex on Friday in the sixth round of Omantel League. Ivson netted the winner for Saham that increased their points tally to 12 points and helped them reach the third position. Mirbat also have the same number of points as Saham but occupy the second place on account of a better goal difference. Mirbat eked out a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Oman club on their home turf. The only goal of the match was scored by Guan.


It was the sixth continuous defeat for Oman club which is the only team in the league without any points. In the bottom zone, Majees is holding one point only and are in the 13th place while Sur has two points and occupy the 12th place. Al Nahdha missed the chance to get closer with top team as they suffered a 2-1 defeat against Al Oruba at Sur Sports Complex. Despite taking the lead and being ahead 1-0 at half-time, Al Nahdha, Al Oruba recorded come-from-behind victory as they netted goals through Younis Mubarek and Thwaini Hadid. Al Oruba jumped to fifth position with 10 points while Al Nahdha remain stuck with 11 points in the fourth place.
